What is Delicate Delirum?
The series is called Delicate Delirium, created by Alex Ruiz in 2021. It explores the mysterious and ecstatic dance between the sacred feminine, altered states of consciousness, and the complexity of the human psyche. Each piece feels like a portal into a hidden world—a surreal manuscript from an ancient, alchemical dream. It’s both playful and profound, blending myth, sensuality, spirit animals, and visual psychedelia to reflect on themes like transhumanism, spiritual awakening, and the fragmented beauty of the modern soul.
Delicate Delirium invites viewers to get lost, to feel something ancient and visceral, and to contemplate the boundaries between madness and mysticism, chaos and creation.
Creative Mediums
All 26 pieces are created with black, white, and silver inks on handmade vintage paper, which was crafted by artisans using antique cotton. The paper has natural variations, giving each piece a unique aged and sacred feel, like a relic from another world.
The style combines intricate surrealism, psychedelic symbolism, and sacred geometry—think vintage journal meets sacred alchemical grimoire.
Visually, the pieces are united by high contrast, intricate detailing, and feminine iconography. Emotionally, they all explore a sense of wonder, mystery, sensuality, and a touch of mischief—like sacred visions filtered through a chemically altered lens.
Visionary Collectors
The ideal collector of Delicate Delirium is a visionary soul—someone who values beauty, depth, and meaning in their environment and lifestyle. They have a taste for the extraordinary, mystical, and avant-garde.
They’re likely entrepreneurs, creatives, spiritual seekers, art lovers, and cultural disruptors who see art not just as decoration, but as a portal—something that transforms a space and evokes a visceral, emotional response.
These collectors live intentional lives, often drawn to psychedelics, mythology, sacred femininity, Jungian psychology, ancient wisdom, and futurism. Aesthetically, they’re into surrealism, symbolic storytelling, vintage-meets-modern design, and intricate detail. Many are also interested in emerging art movements, high-end experiences, and building personal collections that reflect their inner evolution.
